Empowered Elegance centres on feminist fashion history, empowering women to embrace femininity, elegance and power. The final design outcomes draw inspiration from garments synonymous with feminism, albeit with revitalised silhouettes to make the statement that 'femininity equates with authority'.  

Empowered Elegance offers sharp tailoring and elegant drapery, to allow for versatile transitions from day to night. Each look references elements of feminist fashion through a contemporary lens by combining soft and structural design details. Tailored garments and structured fabrics reflect on the harsh realities and restrictions women faced in the past. In contrast, soft fabrications evoke elegant femininity.  

Tartan and checked prints are used throughout to reference the identity and belonging the print symbolises, as well as speaking to the strength women command.
