The concept of defiant diva explores the interconnection between power and femininity re-evaluating traditional gender dynamics. Defiant diva is illustrated through a rebellious nature combined with a feminine style. It represents how clothing can empower women to express their strength and identity though style and clothing. The revolutionary resilience was shown though the Suffragette women movement to symbolise the strength and perseverance of the activists through the use of clothing presenting a fusion of professionalism with a fashion-forward feminine style.

The suit signifies a versatile garment reflecting on the evolving views of contemporary society as it’s roots draw from power and professionalism. I aim to create a statement by subverting norms and expectations portraying confidence and embracing contemporary style. The collection uses a combination of materials such as Boucle Tweed, heavy weight and medium weight denim and cotton. These materials provide a blend of soft femininity and authority, whilst blending historical significance with women’s empowerment.
