PASSIONS REVOLVE

My collection represents two sides of a story. One side is more dominant than the other. The weaker of the two, is a reflection on sustainability. The metal accessory sculptures were created first, with the intention of speaking to natural products derived from the earth. Collected elements are morphed into new raw materials which can be used in a multitude of applications or transformed back to their original state, as nature intended.

Metal, a material that can be reborn as another product, personifies the seasons. It conjures the thought that nature has engineered the recycling of organic products, from a seed to organic life, only to return to the earth and rebegin the process. Much like people. As a whole, the collection embodies the cycle of life. Through the seasons, one life begins and ends. Your life will begin in a season, and it will end in a season. We all die eventually. Each of these seasons represents a stage in everyone’s life.

The epitome of the cycle is captured with the final dress. Red, a symbol of blood, love, passion, life and death. How can we move on in the cycle of life without any of these emotions? How can we appreciate life if we have never experienced death? This collection represents your need for passion in life, to achieve, move on and accomplish.
