SASHA MCDONNELL.

DUE PROCESS.

This collection will lead the viewer through an experience. It follows the life of an idea that transforms a woman's values and beliefs, popular beliefs that are running rampant on the internet. The transformation into a 'tradwife.' Misinformation and purity culture are, in my opinion, two of the biggest battles women face today. These ideas are being perpetuated by both men and women, some misin-formed, and some bigoted but our online algorithms and internet culture are feeding these narratives to everyone.

The tradwife is being uplifted and revalued. Some now argue that tradwives represent the kinder face of extremist ideologies, because they hide behind the soft image of a woman (Stotzer and Nelson 2025) This collection aims to educate and provoke conversation about the 'tradwife' movement, rather than shame women for their choices. Freedom comes in all shapes and sizes, but it's important to stay informed. Mary Wollstonecraft, one of the most prolific feminist authors, argued that knowledge is what uplifts women, and that blind obedience to their husbands is what sets us back (Llopart Babot 2023) This is the message I aim to convey in a conceptual and thought pro voking way. The collection will begin with what society considers an 'independent' woman and will slowly spiral into the tradwife. The transition won't be blatantly obvious, because the modern tradwife often hides behind consumer trends and mainstream values to express deeper political beliefs. However, underneath it all, when you give up your own rights, you are left only with what has been given to you by your husband, which in my collection is symbolised by an apron.
