UnFace43 is a limited commercial fashion collection that links the FACS system with the visual anatomy of emotion. Each garment is a study of the body’s silent language and how muscular response can be carved into cloth anchored by emotions of joy, fear, sadness, anger and surprise. These have been deconstructed visually through an analysis into the muscular movements that build up each emotion and how the face is contorted. The looks are named after the most prominent of each of the muscles, shining a light into how emotion provokes these involuntary muscular movements. An Autumn-Winter ready-to-wear collection designed after intensive theoretical research into the FACS system and further research into how the pulse of emotion can be applied to fashion through a classic cross contemporary way. The collection is highly structured and tailored to reflect the muscles which move and evolve through the body. With a traditional Parisian grey anchoring the collection and highlights of a deep wine burgundy, emotion is not only worn but is constructed for further reflection.
