How might we use fashion to break garment stereotypes?
In today's era of great tolerance for different cultures, all kinds of garments full of multicultural elements have been designed. Since the clothing of Japan's three major fashion designers Yohji Yamamoto, Issey Miyake and Rei Kawakubo participated in Paris Fashion Week, modern fashion has become no longer exclusive to the Western world. Since then, Eastern and Western fashions have collided and merged, creating many interesting new designs, breaking rules and stereotypes.
However, in today's cultural diversity, there are still some prejudices and stereotypes about clothing in terms of culture and gender. For example, if boy wears a skirt-type garment, he may be pejoratively labelled “girly” or if a person wears a traditionally inspired garment that does not belong to their culture they can be accused of "cultural appropriation". In terms of fashion and art, such prejudices can prevent people from boldly expressing themselves and it is not conducive to the development of fashion.
Therefore, ‘Fusion Classic’ presents garments with a strong contrast and fusion between east and west and promotes a genderless approach, bravely, which breaks fashion stereotypes.
